My priorities
I don't get bogged down in political rhetoric and grandstanding. I am glad to work with people from all backgrounds to solve our common problems.
My legislative priorities include:
- public education
- fair taxation
- strong wages and good jobs
- protecting the Montana constitution
- privacy in health care
- a clean and healthy environment
- hunting, fishing and outdoor opportunities for everyone
Experience
I've demonstrated that I can get things done .
During my 2 previous Legislative Sessions I have passed bills ranging from natural resource conservation to sexual assault.I have served on House Taxation, Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife and Local Government Committees.
I'm currently serving on the bipartisan Environmental Quality Council Interim Committee. I've built good relationships with lawmakers from around the state and am willing to work with everyone to solve problems.
I previously served 3 terms on the Missoula City Council, including 8 years as Council President.
I work at the University of Montana as a botanist, managing natural areas on Mt Sentinel and at Fort Missoula, and teaching science classes.
